Karl Malden was amazing in _On the Waterfront._ Well, actually, everyone in it was great, but at the time I saw _On the Waterfront_ (in repertory), my familiarity with Malden was as someone on _The Streets of San Francisco,_ which I had never watched, and I knew Brando and Eva Marie Saint would be good, but Malden blew me away. I saw the movie on a lovely Saturday or Sunday afternoon and when I left the theater it just seemed to wrong that the sun should be in the sky. I was really moved.

Mark Harmon always seems like such a nice guy. That 's not really remarkable or anything, or you wouldn't think it would be. But, in a business where everybody seems to just do anything to get more and more attention, Mr. Harmon just seems relaxed and friendly. That's really cool.

What a wonderful conversation. Mark Harmon tops the list as a man to emulate, whether actor, football star or human being. Thank you for reminding me of the definition of class.

I always thought that Mark Harmon and Tom Cruise look very similar, Mark Harmon is older obviously and I thought that maybe he wasn't doing as well as Tom Cruise as for his career however after NCIS I'm sure he's fine.

lechatbotte - He was also a lot goofier/hippie-ish. Then the world changed and so did he, becoming bitter, resentful and really just ripping into the grand delusion that our lives and society are perfect

I greatly enjoyed his Karl Malden story. Michael Douglas has often said working with him on "The Streets of San Francisco" was like going to acting class everyday.

Back in '80, I remember catching a snippet of the Merv Griffin show dedicated to promoting "Beyond the Poseidon Adventure," which was a box-office bomb. I remember Telly Savalas was a little P.O.'ed that he had been relegated to once again accepting bad-guy roles after his "Kojak" success had faded.
