Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Shout out to Ben and Farm Focused from a customer in Denmark :)
The farm focus segment was very interesting
Hi good nice to see
Agreed! Loved to see entrepreneurship at work.
cool
This dry cold weather will dry out dogs' skin, even under the fur, causing itching. We normally add about 1 teaspoon of salmon oil a week to the food, for each dog. Just dribble it on over their food, they usually love the smell and taste. Keeps their skin and coat in great condition. Plus it has other good properties for them. Prevents dry skin, and their coats will appear a bit glossier, shedding water and mud more easily. If the dry skin doesn't go away in a few weeks, they might have other problems such as food allergies, but I'd start with the oil first.
I’ll give it a try, Logan thanks you..🐶

Exactly what I was about to comment. We get the same cold dry winters down here in south east wyoming
Yes, yes, yes. I love seeing what others are doing. More road-trips please.

Anyone who is lucky enough to have a relationship like you and Randy have can consider themselves rich. Absolutely love the interaction. Thanks Zach.
Always like when you tour other farms. Neat to see different operations.
Yes, yes, yes. I love seeing what others are doing. More road-trips please.
I'd love to see a road trip to other farms! Go for it!
So nice
Interesting to see how the Merch business works, always cool to see something different. And yeah, more roadtrips!!
As a musher, we feed purina pro plan. We’ve tried lots, Dr. Tim’s, Redpaw, and the costco stuff. We still feed costco in the summer but some dogs are allergic. We know some vets that recommend the purina so that’s why we switched and we’ve been happy with it, I believe they have one even for sensitive skin. Love the vids!

Purina is crap, I know this for a fact that Purina uses road kill in their food
Also other dead animals. I used to work on trucks in the 80s in the quad cities. One day I had to go to the Purina plant in davenport Iowa to replace tires on a road kill truck it was so gross smelling but that's where they dumped the truck
The farm focus segment was very interesting. Sounds very efficient.
Thanks for the video Zach. I liked the vendor visit and im sure farm focused and their vendors all appreciate the air time. That being said, i definitely think this is a good format. Other random road trips during the off season or what have you would be equally welcome. Thanks again!
If you're here watching This and feeling inspired then keep going grinding away! keep up the good work and Never Give Up!
We'd love to see you and Randy travel...every day works for us!
Yup! Would love to see more road trip videos! The more videos from you the better!! Keep up the good work! Ignore those negative nellys and their dumb comments! Your doing a great thing Zach!
For your dogs itch, you could use any food with an oil in it. (omega 3 in the food works as well).
The cause could be from using electric heat where the dogs spend most of their time (electric heat is dry which can make the dogs itchy and can cause humans some breathing discomfort
Keep up the road trips they look like you guys have fun and we can enjoy watching it ....... keep up your hard work feeding g the nation and thank you Josh
You should definitely visit a bunch of farms! That would be awesome! Maybe Cole the cornstar, farmhand mike, the Larsen's, Brian, the Welkers and whoever else!
I love the farm focus stuff. I recently ordered a MF hoodie from them with the one green stripe like in this video. The only problem was that all of my stripes were the same color without a green one. So they must have some issues from time to time.
Would love to see other farms. Love your videos Zach
I'm glad to see that you guys have really helped each other get going. Great people to work with from our end too.
Jone
I had skin issues with 2 of my English bulldogs. Tried numerous different foods. Beneful from Purina worked best for them. Vet had me try an oatmeal shampoo for them once a week also.
Zach, you can find the correct wheel stud torque in the owners manual. Using after-market wheels may change that. The recommended torque spec, to me, never seems tight enough but it really matters when it comes to aluminum wheels. You don’t want to crack them.
Road trips are always the best. And who wouldn't love to see the millennial Farmer and the master pipe layer get arrested for streaking?
Hey Zach, When you lift your truck, if your wood blocks keep breaking like ours did, try using a hockey puck between the jack and the frame. Works really well!
Looking forward to you and Randy hitting the road and learning at different farms! Thanks for the content during a time that is tough to get content
Very interesting clip. Nice to see something sometimes outside of the daily day to day farm stuff.
So yea, interested in seeing more things outside the norm
As long as Randy is road tripping with you then yes film more road trips.... MAN that guy can lay pipe! I guess that’s why he’s the master.
And the actor that plays the millennial farmer is pretty funny too I guess🤷🏼🤣
While watching this, I was able see Ben who wrote me a letter thanking me for my service. He sent me some Farm Focused stickers and a hat when I bought one of your MN Cups while I was in Korea.
1. Great video as usual. 2. Definitely more road trips. I grew up in NW Ohio and worked on a few different small farms and love to see how different operations work. 3. I have a small sharpening business and spend many hours by myself in the back of my van sharpening for people. One of my favorite things to do is listen to the Off the Husk podcast. I am hoping to see some new stuff soon. I've listened to the old ones multiple times.
Our German was the same way, ended up going with a raw diet and he is no longer itching and his coat looks 100x better. We also make it on our own, with fresh ingredients from local businesses a meat ginger (pretty hefty one to deal with the bones) and a cleaver.
Hey Zach great vid! I love ur channel! Keep up the good work. God bless
Zach, been missing your videos. Hope you are feeling well after your covid. I know this is the slower time of farming, especially up north. Yes, have always liked your trips to other farmers. In fact, that is how I found other farmer channels.

I think It’d be a great idea to do more road trip with MPL videos!
Thank you both for a great field trip, it was interesting and fun.
would love to see more road trips. Wish there was something going on here right now. pretty quiet.
Really informative. I personally, love any road trip (and videos)!
It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who has friends who show up late and hungover. The power nap taken during the ride is a perfect time to get even!! Lol

Hey Zak, Malc from New Zealand, our 4Y old GS (Sarge) has the same inch issues, best food recommended to us by specialist is a product called “Royal Canin - anallergenic” its bloody expensive but the best out there for his itch. Awesome channel mate, great piss takes, and you’ve got some huge country your working over there, great to watch.
Absolutly more road trips. Perfect filler between the seasons.
My GSD is on Zignature (grain free). I did an allergy test on her when she was a pup to see what she is supposed to be allergic to. I switch between the turkey and duck varieties.
Thanks for the tour of farm focused. It’s amazing to see the behind the scenes stuff.
Hey! Round the Bend Steak House. Been there several times during Testicle Festival. Got the T-shirt to prove it. Love their motto: "Don't let your head beat your stomach out of something good to eat!"
Yes Zack that would be nice to see another road trip...enjoy snowmobiling 🇺🇸🇺🇸👍
We had a samoyed that started getting incredibly itchy, tried different foods, adding salmon oil, keeping him inside, nothing worked.
Someone eventually recommended food that was grain free and gluten free. He was like a while new dog on that food. It was great to have my best buddy back again.
My GSD is the same, allergic to life! Fed him raw for the last 4 years, best thing we ever did! No more allergies, best shape he’s ever been in!
Bdsh
To all asking … his food is all minced, we mix it up between, beef, chicken, Guinea fowl, salmon, turkey, lamb ect … then we tend to add a tripe mix, normally around 10% bone, 10% offal (heart, liver, spleen ect). Add in oil of some description, at the moment I think we’re using wild salmon oil and last but not least, something called keepers mix, it differs everywhere, but generally speaking it’s just a mix of good vitamins! Treats tend to be, pig/cow ears, turkey necks anything like that!
It’s simple enough, you don’t have to do it yourself, there’s plenty of companies out there that sell “complete” raw dog foods, mixed for you!!
Hope this helps anyone with questions!!
Try a oil supplement it can relieve itching and help their coats
Raw or grain free diet.
I'm not sure on dog foods, but it stands to reason feeding them raw foods that help. My cousin's father-in-law and his daught have celiac disease - which is an allergy due to gluten. I would at least look for a grain free dog food and try that over any type of medication. I've gone keto/carnivore and removed grain and sugar....inflammation has greatly been reduced. I think the GS might be having trouble with gluten - grain added dog food. Just my 2 cents. GL and grrat suggestion for raw diet.
Looks like you have been having some nice weather!!!! Nice and dry here in South Dakota. Cold though. We are all ready for some more farming videos!!!
@Millennial Farmer Yes, I would love to see more Rural farms and see how they operate. I met you down at the Illinois Farm Bureau Young Leaders Convention in 2019. It was in Peoria, Illinois. Even got a picture with you. Keep it coming!
Ty for using your time to keep us in formed on so many things in farming .
Its cool to see how Farm Focus is running and supplying for so many Farms on youtube
That was probably the best "advertisement" ever. I really enjoyed seeing how all of the software works, and hearing his explanation of it... just seeing it in action. It's making me think about finding a way to use that for my business.
🎵walking in a winter wonderland🎵 Feels like the same thing over here as well! Although we’ve had extremely nice sundogs lately over here in Moorhead, and we’re currently under a Wind Chill Warning until noon tomorrow
Great video. Love to see what other people do. How about a vid of what a millennial farmers wife does all day to support a millennial farmer.
Would love to do a road trip across the Midwest, I had a trip from Burlington Vermont across to Chillicothe Ohio partially organised for August 2020 and then our flights got canceled because we weren’t allowed to leave Australia 😡
I'm sure Becky was saying no no it's a forward slash. Please do some farm visits with Randy. That would be terrific to watch. Especially if he can stay awake in the cab of the truck.
I have always loved the one line from the comic strip "Calvin and Hobbes" "You know it's cold when your boogers freeze." That is when it is too cold for me. If you make it to Cali for the Farm expo, you will not freeze your boogers...enjoy
One road trip above all else! Andy Harmless farmer that guy is a Legend
I live about 40 miles from Round the Bend and it is my absolute favorite place to go to! Always good food and service and from what I have heard there are many waiters/waitresses that love working there as it is employee owned.
Yes Zack. Road trips to farm would be great to see👍
How you feeling Zack hope your getting back to some sort of normality.
Good to see you back
Ben and Morgan are awesome. I have received Christmas and Birthday presents from them from the kids. Yes those presents have included Millennial Farmer and MPL merch.
Happy Jack Tonekote is what I use for my 2 shepherds. Makes their coat soft and skin not so dry.
To see this video trending makes me so happy also with the dog food we took away grain and it did wonders
I would love to see more road trips especially to unusual farmers like the turkey egg farm you went to a year or two ago!
Timer
@haikat Ta.... 💦 You better stop doing this now. I am going to every reply and reporting you so please stop sending this
Try Ruff Greens for the dogs. Glad to see you're still doing well! Stay healthy!
Wife feeds raw to our dogs and has helped tremendously with yeast/skin allergies. Raw can be kind of overwhelming to just pickup tho so she’s also had good luck with freeze dried “raw”. Easier and not as complicated. At the least maybe switch to grain free (if you haven’t already) we use Zignatures brand. Have had great results with my lab and dry skin.
Great to see your video! Definitely looking forward to another Randy on the road video!!
Definitely need to see more road trips
Let's see some more road trips. Great videos!
Regarding your itchy dog. I had a pug that itched constantly. We tried everything then finally our vet put him on a new medication called Apoquel and he never itched again. Highly recommend it. Love watching your videos from Idaho!
3:06 I have had both German Sheppards and Belgian Malinois, before my divorce, and we had a similar issue. Typically what is causing the itching is an allergy to grain source in the food itself. You can find good grain free dog foods such as Wellness Brand specifically their Core line Ocean flavor, but this can be a little costly. Tractor supply has a brand called 4Health that's also grain free which is another more affordable Option that's decent quality.
If the itching doesn't go away or becomes worse, then they could have some kind of yeast infection which a Vet could diagnose pretty easily. If not then they could have dry skin from the cold air and you could try giving them Fish Oil. I gave mine Kirkland Salmon oil pills that I would just toss into their bowl then I would feel them.
Another option is that you could feed them raw food which may or may not be a reasonable option. Some folks are against raw feeding, I personally am not considering all dogs are descendants from wolves. Wolves eat meat.
Anyway, hope my suggestions find you well. I'd be happy to answer any other questions you might have.
I liked last years road trip with the families. Down to Texas I think it was, so my vote is yes!
Its cool to see how Farm Focus is running and supplying for so many Farms on youtube
Royal canin has worked well for my 7 month old GSD, but we will see how it goes. she is also named Onna thanks to you! Haha
Definitely would love to see more of these!!
ALL your videos are great. On the farm ,or on the road. Welcome back
Oh look it's all white and fluffy, you must be in Heaven. 😀 I haven't had to shovel snow in 30 years, can't say I miss it. Here it snows a couple of inches and everything looks all wintery and beautiful, then it goes away the next day. I enjoy watching your farm fumction. Although I find it somewhat distressing that things seem to breakdown as often as they do.
Road trips would be kool! I always liked when you visit other farms in previous videos.
Haystak this is Rick from Kentucky I really enjoyed watching your videos I used to farm all the time by myself but I don't care no more I really enjoyed the videos and your road trips keep the good work up
Go to Sonne Farms out i South Dakota. They're about to start claving. Would love to see you and Randy trying to work some cattles and joking around with Cole, Brian, and the Jeff.
Our German Shepard had an itching problem as well. We discovered she was allergic to corn, which most dog foods are made with. The vet told us to switch to a rice based food and the itch went away.
I read some comments..had Germans most of my life. My son has two full blood now. One nomater what he feed. Ended having to to vet an put on a pill every day. Ivert time you see him itching. He's asking for help. He's worth it. Right?
More road trips please - very interesting!!
Great to see a business like Farm Focused grow and succeed. Be careful, the actor that plays Zach Johnson ordered a t-shirt and charged it to Zach Johnson :-) Thanks Becky for all the video work.
It was 33…maybe 34 years ago, I was in a mountain cabin with friends and family in Colorado south of Glenwood Springs. We got so much snow, it covered the windows and back door of the cabin. The front door was under a porch and only partially covered from drifting. It was fun for us youngsters, but the folks were a bit worried. I don’t remember exactly how much snow we got, but it was roughly 1 cabin wall deep. ❄️ ⛄️

I was quick to get the Moline die cast toy with Westendorf loader, love it. Can't wait for the snow covered Deere zero turn mower die cast!
I would enjoy seeing you fellows on a road trip. First thing I would do is drive south till the snow disappears.
I would love to see your next trip Zach!!
I vote for more trips. Have you tried Grain free L.I.D. food? My Dane used to itch like crazy and get red spots on her ears. Switched to a grain free Limited ingredient food and it helped tremendously. They make some pretty decent Grain free LID food that isn't $75 a bag.
I had a German shepherd for over a decade. Always had itchy skin. We started feeding him Blu Buffalo and it cleared up for the most part. It's expensive but for us it was worth it.
Something we do for our dogs dry skin is either add a couple drops of fish oil to their food. It works great for them. The other thing to try is adding an egg to their food once a day. Good luck.
Us Southerns couldn’t even fathom walking around in snow that deep. Wow 😮
I’d love to see more road trip vids mate
Another Road trip vid would be awesome! Maybe a colab with how farms work 🤔
Always up for a farm tour road trip.
I think you an Randy travel around to different farms would be good
Yes, more adventures!
Man while you were driving and Randy was sleeping I was really expecting a dumb and dumber reference. “Some people just aren’t cut out for the road”
Never seen a tire rotation pattern like yours.
My old female Shepard used to scratch just like that, I started cracking a couple eggs onto her food and it helped a lot. I would guess that isn't the best way but it worked for my good girl
Ship station sounds awesome. Most folks don’t realize the time involved to create these shipping labels.
As a ship station user, it’s awful compared to other shipping interfaces. PayPal used to have their own shipping interface and it was much faster, less errors, and easier to select different types of shipping methods when processing large quantities of orders at one time. Shipstation is slower, cumbersome, wants to correct any address that isn’t fully capitalized, fills out incorrect customs forms for international orders, and has no way to delete orders out of the interface that customers pick up in person or you use some other means to ship. With shipstation we’ve never had so many packages get returned for incomplete addresses and other postal errors, used to be maybe one a month, now it’s 2-3 a week, because shipstation wants to correct addresses and throws error codes if you actually use the correct customer supplied address. Also I’m paid on partial commission (I get hourly+ a per package shipped bonus) and because shipstation is so much slower I now make $2-3 less per hour of work.
