Matching iOS with Sailfish OS - Vol. 1

  • A first video comparison between a solid iPhone 7 and a Sony Xperia X with Sailfish OS.
It's possible to match nearly all the task possible with a normal iPhone, using Sailfish OS native app - when possible - or their android equivalents (buying a Sailfish OS License which includes the Android support, ndr).
This comparison is with an Xperia X and an iPhone 7 because they were contemporary and very close devices in the specifications and... because of budget (Let's set a legitimate 550€ for a smartphone).
The video is so long, below direct link to task:
    Unlock with fingerprint 0:12
    Email 0:30
    SMS messages 0:42

Sailfish OS is as fast as iOS

    • Jolla-Devices
      Jolla-Devices  2 months ago +2

For sure the startup is faster. If you look carefully, the app's opening animation is till a lot faster in ios 8+ (thanks to some preloading method).
That said Sailfish OS on XA2 plus is FAST.

@daraka 1 errr yes it's a brave, different UI. But all the other stuff under the hood is the opposite of Microsoft.
Also, Microsoft and the Elop issue were at the beginning of old Nokia ending...

It's also on the later Xperia XA2 family. Here I used the older Xperia X to match size and specs!
