Mitch White and the bullpen actually did kinda OK this game, 2 runs and they were able to hold it there. We need more run support from the offense though, hope he gets another start down the stretch.
He’s becoming a more reliable pitcher. Soon we’ll forget we even had kershaw and bauer
I expect the Phils offense to heat up again with the Reds coming to town. The Dodgers just have a great pitching staff.

Situational hitting is gonna be big blue down fall going forward. Leaving way to many ducks on the pond. If big blue hit more in situational spots they would be 5 games up instead of 5 back. Gonna be tough get to the Giants. They are playing outstanding baseball on a every night bases. McKinney is horrendous at the plate. Dude never gets a hit more less situational. Is it too much to ask that the Dodgers show up to these early morning (Los Angeles time) potential sweep clinching games?? Seems like they always lose these types of game and worse yet, it always seems like it’s intentional, or at the very least, not worth effort.

Nola is definitely having an off year but his career ERA is 3.59 and scherzer is 3.19 despite being on much better teams then the Phillies have been the last decade, not to mention Nola is alot younger, Nola has been better then scherzer in his total game pitched then how sherzer was at the same amount of games
@Eric Rerrud11 They still had Turner, Muncy, and Seager. Like half of the Phillies hitters were bench players.
@Eric Rerrud11 Scherzer was in, but Nola was performing just as well as him - if not better. Nola only pitched four innings, whereas Scherzer pitched 3.1 innings because of the rain delay. In four innings, Nola have gave up zero runs and zero walks with 7 strikeouts and one hit at 51 pitches. Scherzer, too, hadn’t given up any runs and struck out six, but he gave up three hits.
The Dodgers have a stronger offense than the Phillies - that’s one of the reasons why the Phillies lost the series. So the fact that Nola, who’s had a mediocre season, performed slightly better than Scherzer against strong hitters is amazing.

Doesn't matter, as long as we make it go the playoffs we're the team to beat. Scherzer already has experience winning it all as a wild card spot. Lots of teams end up with the best record in baseball and end up getting kicked out the first round. Playoffs is a totally different beast.
