I don’t need music in my ears
I don’t need the crowds and the cheers
Just tell me you love me, that's all that I need to hear
I’ve been told so many times before
But hearing it from you m
    eans much more
    So much more

I‘m so in love with this era it feels like this is the most honest and happy they’ve ever been. Such a beautiful group of guys..eternally thankful they’ve found their chosen family in each other and I can’t wait for this album I think it’s going to be the most wholesome one yet.

Yep. When I first saw them in 2009 and 10 (when the band was called the Big Sleep and Drive Like I do, and they were babies). They were the support act for another band. They looked so pissed off and beat down that no one was listening to them and talking through their whole act. I spoke to Matty afterwards and we chatted for ages - such a nice dude. Since then they’ve rocketed as The 1975 and they reached, and passed through, their rockstar phase. I’m loving this phase. They’ve literally been the soundtrack of my life for the past 13 years and I love how their sound has changed.

It’s going to be all killer no filler for sure. I think the only complaint is that some songs are very reminiscent of past work which is okay for me, but it’s not exciting in the sense of getting something that sounds creatively new, you know, kind of like…Huey Lewis & The News.

Silence in the house. Two lovers, absolutely adoring each other, in cozy home clothes. Exhausted by hugs and completely happy. No need to pretend, no smart words are needed, only sweet laziness, a bit humor, some food and the love.
Thank you, The 1975, a very beautiful, sincere, intimate, heartfelt thing, in your best style!💘 The lyrics and the video are high class again!🎬💥🆒💯

This is solid. Their slower stuff isn’t my favorite but they pull it off well so I give credit where credit is due. Their more upbeat dance-type music is what I love about them. Or whenever they get weird, I like that as well.

I'm hearing so many different influences off this newest record, it's incredible. Part of the Band is very Bon Iver (Justin Vernon) sounding of the For Emma For Ever ago record and this is very John Mayor. Can't wait to hear the rest, absolutely love your lyrics, they always have a way of affecting me, whether sad such as Change of Heart or Be My Mistake, or the more tongue in cheek TwoTime. You guys are fucking killing it.

This song is giving a brief Inquiry into online relationships vibes from Be My Mistake mixed with If I believe you. I remember being in high school my senior year and waiting for each song release after their announcement dates an hour prior eager to hear the new tracks off that record, I freaked out listening to Love it if we made it because of how hard that song goes.

I've been through tough times internally, and after a period of "numbness" of my own self I came to a realisation of who I really was, and this upcoming album seems like the perfect catalyst to that process of inner rediscovery of my own essence. That's how special these songs have been to me.

Pretty stoked for this album! Seeing them live for the first time in November and I can’t wait.
It’s so strange because the 1975 is not my normal genre of music, but I first heard them on SNL preform “Girls” and “the Sound” and it was just such an interesting vibe. Poppy but with some deep almost dark lyrics, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Been a fan of these guys since Chocolate hit the radio in like 2014. Still remember first hearing the song: driving back from the beach in SoCal and couldn't believe the sounds they were making. I've been in some bands and have drummed for most of my life, but I had never heard anything like the 1975 before that day... I was hooked.
Listed to their self titled deluxe about 1000 times and my favorite song is still Milk.. remember letting You play out and finding the little hidden gem at like minute 7.30 or something... man, the band, everything they were doing, completely broke my brain. It was the music I would play if I was as talented as them.
Then they dropped a few more albums, and I'll be honest, I felt a little disappointed at times. I realized that they had played (and honed) their self titled songs for like 10 y before it actually released in an album, so my expectations definitely needed to be adjusted. If you play songs for a decade, working them out of stage, and then record the album.. the polish and cohesion they will have... well, for me it really shone through.
With their other albums, I just felt like that polish was missing. Still a huge fan through it all.. I don't know how to explain it.. I still liked what they were doing, but maybe I just wasn't loving it.
Then they drop these singles... and I'm head over heels again.
    Well done lads.

Loving the new songs, Matty. I just discovered Steve Reich's 'Music for 18 musicians', and stumbled upon a conversation you had with him a few years ago after reading the album's Wikipedia page. Everything in this video, from the little documentary to the cinematography, the location, the live band music, and the song itself is just sublime. This band aged so well.

This era is nostalgic and reminiscent of their B&W era and at the same time it's not, since it's not a stark black and white like before. It's softer. There's so much more to this than just an album. 🥺🖤🖤🖤
