Islam, if you have a micheal Vick type of quarter back, you work with him. But I do not see were he is getting any coaching on speaking to the media. He does not have pre arranged statements. He ain't done bad but he could do better. Plus a good accounting/tax person. And stand up on his Moorish ancestry Islam

Again, the main topic is the great 1 (Lamar) and the only thing that the smarties kan find energy to satisfy their mojo, is assuming that the great one will get hurt, they never speak of Tom Brady, or any other QBs with such a negative narrative.

If a black man can't play quarterback those white quarterbacks better stay out of the Sun because if they get too dark of a tan they will lose their abilities to play the position sound stupid doesn't it what's the difference nothing but colour of my skin

  • Matt Kneeshaw
    Matt Kneeshaw 24 days ago

I'm sorry but I hate I know hate is a strong word but I hate when somebody says that person cannot do that fill in the blank because of their ethnicity in this case Lamar Jackson cannot play quarterback because he's black I'm a white man what's the difference between me and Lamar Jackson's I'm not talkin individual but on the big picture so what it is the difference between a 20 to 30 year old raised in North America white man and a black man I know the answer are you ready this is a white man sayings not a f****** thing nothing there is nothing he can do did I can't do nothing I can do this He can't I don't know what the colour of your skin has to do with your ability to do a single task or play a position would it not have to do to your education your knowledge on said subject Warren Moon oh I'm Canadian by the way y'all passed on Warren Moon came to the CFL then you couldn't get him back fast enough when he proved he was one of the most prolific talents of his day to play the position but he had to come to Canada to prove that he could do what a white man could and do it better that was the late 80s early 90s and you were still having the same conversation racist how many have to prove to you that there is no difference until you drop this conversation just look at the past history at the quarterbacks why are you still having the conversation there is no difference between a white man a black man Olive complexion man brownman Redman that's a small sample size Redman there is no difference besides where our ancestors lived and the amount of sunlight they were exposed too

They didn’t miss Lamar, they just didn’t want another black quarter back. People must stop skirting the issue of race and just say it as it is. It’s racism period. When women feel there is sexism they call it out, when Jewish people feel there is antisemitism they call it out. Blacks somehow fear calling racism out. Everybody knows Lamar is an outstanding quarterback they are just white supremacists refusing to acknowledge blacks can be just as good if not better at the position.

John elway was a running quarterback everyone seems to forget That I do remember Correct me if I'm wrong John elway ran in a touchdown to win the Super Bowl I forgot hes white

    • herman miller
      herman miller 25 days ago

That Elway is white is irrelevant but the following IS relevant:
In his career Elway had a total of 3,407 rushing yards over his 16 year career. Jackson in 1 and 1/2 years as a starter has, to date, 1901 yards rushing about 1267 PER YEAR. Over 16 years Elway averaged about 213 rushing yards PER YEAR.

Lamar Action Jackson is A Awesome MVP Quarterback! Ozzie Newsome is a Awesome GM!

  • Keirnoth
    Keirnoth 26 days ago +2

Agreed. Jackson is forcing the entirety of the league to completely upturn their coaching style. They're too used to the "big guy in the center" and crafting their defense and offense around that. Jackson is reminding people that if you continue running that style, you are going to get outsmarted by an offense that now has a QB that is quick and nimble AND a good passer.
Lamar has amazing game sense. He can see holes open up in the defense and run in. Too many teams are used to these QBs being slow to respond to holes in the pocket but Lamar knows how to turn on the jets as soon as he sees it loosen and he's torn apart defensive lines because of it.
Jackson is a proper evolution for the NFL. I hope to see more QBs of Jackson's caliber in the future.

  • jameswheeleriii
    jameswheeleriii 26 days ago

Basic American bigotry is the reason he was picked late 1st Round. BS... That they would have to build an offense around Lamar, for he stayed in the pocket his last year at Louisville and put up great numbers in Richard Petrino's offense. Straight-up racism is definitely displayed with the point being the Chicago Bears picked Mitchell Trubisky, a one-year starter at UNC over Lamar, Patrick Mahomes, and Deshaun Watson. Case closed!

Arguable, but I can't help but wonder how many coaches and general managers were spooked by the RG3 phenomenon: Incredibly talented out of college but a risky proposition in the NFL due to the risk of injury. Vick and Russ Wilson (scrambling/out of pocket QBs) seem to be the outliers in terms of longevity. Fair to say?

Who (besides him) cares if he plays longer than 5 years with this style as long as it beats fruit. These same owners will invest in “pocket qbs” for 10 or 12 years only to potentially get one super bowl
Why not try and get it in 7-8 with a freak athlete

  • smoothcollected
    smoothcollected Month ago

I love the point Westbrook made that kills the argument of idiots who try to make the excuse of why not draft an athletic qb, being you can’t invest in them long term because they can get hurt running. Like Westbrook said if you get 5 years out of him oppose you the with a super bowl then isn’t that a win?
