Same is true with raw beef for tartar in France. You don't use supermarket ground beef, as it is too hard to truly know if the grinding machine was properly cleaned, and if it wasn't, it is dangerous.

We go to our local butcher instead.

Steak carpaccio can be good, tartaré makes my stomach turn for some reason. Perhaps because I've grown up associating ground beef with cheap cuts that need to be cooked *thoroughly.*

Ha ya! I was so confused why he went in that direction! Like there are so many gods that just wouldn't care and he named one who would have some actual beef with his actions! 😂

🤣🤣 almost hit the Wisconsin accent, but we love our raw beef and onions on top of marble rye during the holidays. Gotta risk the E. coli for the season!

As long as you get your meat from somewhere reputable and its fresh then that probably minimizes the risk.

I'm from Wisconsin and can confirm the Cannibal Sandwich thing. I would see it at any holiday for the longest time and I always thought it was so gross. My aunts would just put a lump of ground beef on a plate, cover it with onions and serve it with crackers. *shudder* so glad they don't do that anymore. No one ever got sick that I know of but it was still gross.

Love your videos. I'm in my mid-40s and I've eaten raw meat since I was a little kid. I used to sneak it out of the pan when my Mom made spaghetti. To this day I would rather eat a steak before it even touches the grill.... I have never been sick from anything I've eaten. I have an astronomical iron count and obviously didn't eat raw meat when I was pregnant with both of my children but did have to take prenatal vitamins without iron because I had enough already. You keep doing what you do Josh.

This reminds me of a food idea I had a while ago while eating pretzels. So basically when you have a savory pretzel you dip it in mustard. But what if you have a sweet pretzel, what do you dip that it? Exactly. Mustard ice cream.
