Beowulf - Red Carpet European Premiere || Flash Alert! All the stops were pulled out tonight for this five-star European Premiere of the part-animated ancient tale. A set of huge Beowulf gates were erected in the Square, there were flames a-shooting, lights aplenty (static and roving), a huge screen for the masses of fans who braved the freezing weather, a compere and public address speakers to relay it to the shivering ones, momentous music in the gaps, oh and a red carpet. And thats before the stars get a mention. Fans screamed their heads off mainly for Angelina and her man. The fans were mad for Brad whod come along for an evening out since hes not in the movie. It was a super crush when he worked the crowd. Thankfully the security people had a second line of safety barriers and lots of vigilant eyes so we survived in one piece. It was brutal though. Introduced my friend to the barricade today. Waiting and freezing had its benefits. Brad Pitt touched her hand and after her squealing subsided she resolved to leave that hand unwashed awhile. She also talked to her idols Ray Winstone and Angelina. All in one night. There are some things money still cant buy. Roadblocker and bollard Crash test || A couple of crash tests conducted in the USA against a roadblocker barrier system and rising bollards. The road blocker stopped a 6.8 tonne truck travelling at 64kph with nil penetration. The bollards were tested at the same tonnage and speed and stopped the truck within 10 metres of it hitting the bollards. In both instances the trucks were demolished upon impact.
